Plan: free estate documents for every family
Protect your home, your kids and your wishes without paying a lawyer to fill in the blanks. Plan will be free for North Carolina families.
What you get
- A will that says who receives what, and who handles it.
- A guardian for your children if something happens to you.
- A financial power of attorney so someone you trust can pay bills and manage accounts.
- A health care directive so your medical wishes are known.
How it works
- Answer plain-language questions. About 30 minutes, at your own pace.
- Review your documents. See every template in full before you sign anything.
- Sign them correctly. We walk you through North Carolina's signing, witness and notary requirements, because a will signed the wrong way can fail.
- Add an attorney review if you want one. A licensed North Carolina attorney reviews your plan for $199.
"I don't have enough to need a will."
You probably do. If you have children, a home, a car, a bank account or a family you want to keep at peace, a plan protects them. Without one, state law decides, and families often spend months and money in court.
Good to know
Plan is software that fills in attorney-reviewed templates based on your answers. It is not a substitute for advice from an attorney. Plan is available only in North Carolina while we complete review of templates for other states.
